Fast Drying with Low Energy, being Gentle to Wood

Biological Dry Kiln GREEN-DRI™ is a revolutionary new kiln now available to the North American market. This innovative, economical kiln was developed from a biotechnological concept based on the Bound Water Transfer Theory developed by Mr. Toshio Ito in Japan. GREEN-DRI utilizes the natural process to induce the water to come out. Traditional wood drying kilns force the moisture out from the wood with a high temperature and forced air. With low constant heat (95°F~110°F), GREEN-DRI requires much less energy than what typical conventional kiln requires yet performs the same or faster drying. Unlike conventional methods, water is not evaporated out but, in effect, sweated out of the wood, drying from within. GREEN-DRI’s double layer walls, ceiling, and floor are all made out of wood, which makes it look and feel like the inside of a sauna. This wood construction is one of the key elements of this drying technology. It uses wood to dry wood, all natural and Green. Because of the constant temperature setting, no scheduling is necessary and a mixture of wood (species, sizes) can be dried at the same time, enabling the most efficient usage of the kiln space and much simpler kiln operation.
