Greenstone GS Wood Sealer
Testing - Mold
In order to prove Greenstone GS ’s capability,
various third party testing has been conducted.
Here is an example of the mold test results. Treated and
untreated MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) boards were
exposed to a mold growing environment for 12 months. (treated
by dipping in Greenstone GS solution). Notice no mold growth is seen on the treated MDF board.
Testing - Termite
The
field test has shown that Greenstone GS presents
a barrier to termite invasion and lessens the tendency
for termites to build feeding sites. Termites would move
on to other food if they are faced with Greenstone GS.
The laboratory test showed that, since there was no other
food source present, Formosan termites, the most aggressive
species in the world, initially nibbled the treated samples,
but did not continue to feed. Also, no significant mortality
was observed.
Testing - Rot
The accelerated
rot test was conducted on wooden door components with
using a variety of wood, including Cedar, Cypress, Mahogany,
Fir, and Radiate Pine buried in a soil sprinkled with
brown and white rot microbes for 6 months. The treated
samples were only sprayed with Greenstone GS.

Testing - Fire
In another simple demonstration, two test wood piles were
made, one treated with Greenstone GS and the other
untreated. Both were ignited with propane gas tanks. The flame went out right away on the treated one but the untreated one kept buring. (see the video at Test Video )
